August Community Events

August brings a renewed focus on readiness, resilience, and looking out for one another. This month’s featured community event offers residents an opportunity to meet local emergency responders, discover practical safety resources, and learn how they can help make Forest Falls better prepared for emergencies.

Forest Falls Community Safety Fair

Saturday, August 29, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Forest Falls Community Safety Fair will be held at the Gail D. Cox Community Center at Big Falls Lodge, located at 41303 Valley of the Falls Drive.

Residents can meet local emergency responders and find practical information about wildfire preparedness, home safety, and community emergencies. The fair will also feature C.E.R.T. class sign-ups, Fire Corps volunteer opportunities, and community safety resources.

Bring your questions, learn how to prepare your household, and discover ways to help strengthen the community.

More local gatherings and recurring community activities may be announced throughout August. Because schedules can change, residents are encouraged to check community bulletin boards and trusted local pages for the latest information.

As the warm, dry days of summer continue, keep emergency supplies ready, review household evacuation plans, and help protect local wildlife by securing food and trash. Whether you live here year-round or are visiting for the day, small acts of preparation and care help keep our mountain communities safe, welcoming, and beautiful.
